The differences between HD2.1 and HD2.0

#Industry information ·2022-09-02 11:40:58

HD cables are currently the most popular audio and video interfaces in the audio-visual market, covering multiple fields such as televisions, PC computers, monitors, and mobile phones. The standard for HD cables has also been upgraded from the previous 2.0 to 2.1. Although the HD2.1 standard was released as early as 2017, due to the insufficient popularity of high-resolution and high-refresh-rate video resources, it was not until the end of 2019 that TVS equipped with HD2.1 gradually hit the market. So, what are the differences between HD2.1 and HD2.0?

The differences between HD2.1 and HD2.0:

HD2.0 version supports 4k video playback at 60hz, with ideal video quality and no lag. It is currently the standard interface in the 4k industry.
HD2.1 version supports 4k video playback at 120hz per second and 8k video playback at 60hz per second. It is fast and has no lag, making it an essential data transmission interface for the future 8k and 10k era.
The biggest difference between HD2.0 and HD2.1 lies in the bandwidth. The transmission bandwidth of HD2.0 is 18Gbps, while that of HD2.1 has been upgraded to 48Gbps. The most direct improvement brought by the increase in bandwidth is the increase in the amount of data transmitted.
HD2.1 supports dynamic HDR, while HD2.0 only supports static HDR.

The above are the differences between HD2.1 and HD2.0. The HD2.1 standard will be backward compatible with HD2.0 and 1.4 standards. Devices that originally supported the HD 2.0 standard can obtain HD 2.1 support through firmware updates.
